Ciara Kimminau’s practice is focused on labor and employment law and public entity matters. She is also experienced in handling business disputes involving contracts and property.

While attending the University of Colorado Law School, Ms. Kimminau was an ACLU Student Bar Association Representative, a volunteer for the “I Have a Dream” foundation, and the recipient of numerous scholarships. Ms. Kimminau began her career at the Colorado Civil Rights Division handling employment, housing, and public accommodation discrimination. Since moving to private practice, she has focused on employment and commercial business litigation at small firms in Denver.

Sophie Kaineg

Sophie Kaineg’s practice focuses on employment litigation and public entity matters. Ms. Kaineg is also experienced with general insurance defense and workers’ compensation claims.

Ms. Kaineg graduated cum laude from the University of California Law in San Francisco where she was awarded Best Oral Argument in moot court and served as teaching assistant for constitutional law and moot court. Danyelle Semjonovs

Senior Associate

Danyelle Semjonovs’ broad labor and employment law experience includes litigation, compliance, enforcement, policy, advising, and investigations.  Ms. Semjonovs advises and defends corporate clients in employment matters from simple discrimination or misclassification claims to SCA audits at the Department of Labor.  She frequently handles matters involving labor and employment law, EEOC proceedings, OFCCP audits, defamation, privacy law, technology abuse, and sexual harassment/assault.  In 2024, Ms. Semjonovs received her Workplace Investigations Certificate from the Society for Human Resources Management.  She has served as first chair and trial counsel in numerous matters across Colorado, California, and Washington.

Ms. Semjonovs began her career as an Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance Officer for the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs where she made employment rights determinations and ensured that complaints and proactive enforcement activities were processed in accordance with directives, regulations, policies, and case law.  She also served as a Staff Attorney for a sexual violence law center in Seattle, WA where she provided survivor-centered legal representation to sexual assault survivors on a broad range of legal matters including privacy litigation, employment discrimination based on sex, and Title IX campus hearings.

Trevor Uffelman

Counsel

Trevor Uffelman handles complicated, high exposure disputes for national and international clients in a diverse array of litigation that focuses on transportation, commercial disputes, insurance defense cases and coverage disputes, and all kinds of third-party casualty litigation.

Prior to joining Hall & Evans, Mr. Uffelman served in-house as General Counsel, Chief Claims Officer, and Corporate Secretary for a group captive insurance company which underwrites risks for large motor carriers and served as General Counsel for a leading national LTL transportation company. Mr. Uffelman’s executive roles in insurance and trucking provide substantial insight into corporate operations that shapes—and adds significant value—to his daily litigation practice.

Mr. Uffelman began his career in private practice, focusing on complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, FELA litigation, and insurance defense in Helena, Montana.

  • Prior to joining Hall & Evans, Mr. Uffelman was the General Counsel and Chief Claims Officer for American Trucking and Transportation Insurance Company, a Risk Retention Group, and before that he served as the General Counsel of Watkins and Shepherd Trucking, Inc., a national LTL transportation company.  Prior to his in-house roles, Mr. Uffelman spent years litigating interesting cases for corporate and government clients including constitutional, employment, casualty, insurance, and commercial matters.

Jacob Gudenkauf

Associate

Jacob Gudenkauf is a litigator with a broad range of experience in construction and design, premises liability, health care, employment, toxic torts, commercial litigation, catastrophic injury, and coverage matters. Mr. Gudenkauf defends a variety of licensed professionals including architects, engineers, and design professionals involved with construction defect claims, as well as doctors, nurses, and health care providers facing medical malpractice claims. He counsels employers with investigations of harassment, retaliation, and discrimination and defends public entities in matters involving Constitutional torts, governmental immunity, and local governance.

Mr. Gudenkauf’s focus is on first seeking to understand his client’s goals and story. Whether through facilitating an early resolution or pursuing a matter through trial and final judgment, he always seeks to find creative solutions to the problems that face his clients and to help them reach their goals.

Mr. Gudenkauf graduated cum laude from Willamette University College of Law. During law school, he served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Elizabeth Weishaupl in Colorado’s 18th District and clerked with the Trial Division of the Oregon Department of Justice.
