Hall & Evans, LLC is both delighted and saddened to announce that Kevin E. O’Brien is retiring from Hall & Evans after a 42-year career. His well-deserved retirement will begin July 1, 2023.
Kevin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Notre Dame, moved to Colorado, and graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. After clerking for U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence A. Whipple for two years, Kevin joined Hall & Evans in October 1980.
Over the last four decades, Kevin has had an extensive litigation and trial career. He has taken matters to verdict in areas of serious personal injury, major casualty, bad faith, professional liability, insurance, and products liability. He has also handled ERISA, healthcare, reinsurance, and commercial matters. Kevin’s experience led him to serve as National Trial Counsel for large corporations and to coordinate the defense of companies facing industry-wide litigation.
Kevin is the Immediate Past Chief Executive Officer of Hall & Evans, spent over 20 years on the Member Board, and recently served as the Firm’s General Counsel. He was also actively involved with ALFA International, having served as a Board Member, Corporate Secretary, and Chair of the Insurance Practice Group.
Kevin was AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and was admitted to the Colorado Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Colorado and Arizona, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth and Third Circuits.
