It is with mixed emotions we announce that Alan Epstein is retiring from the practice of law after a 40-year career. Alan joined Hall & Evans over 38 years ago and his well-deserved retirement will begin November 1, 2020.
Alan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, went on to graduate from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Criminal Law. After law school, he served as a Staff Attorney with the Colorado Court of Appeals. Alan joined Hall & Evans in 1982 and led the firm’s Appellate Practice Group for over thirty years.
Alan has litigated cases resulting in more than 250 published opinions, many of which have significantly shaped Colorado law in the areas of insurance, employment, public entity, product liability, premises liability, and professional liability. He co-founded and chaired the Colorado Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Subcommittee and served as Chair for the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association’s Amicus Committee for many years. Alan was AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, named a Colorado Super Lawyer, and listed in 5280’s Top Lawyers. He was admitted to the Colorado Bar, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, U.S. Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
