Matthew Ninneman and Kelley Shirk are each presenting a portion of Halfmoon Education’s upcoming 6 credit CLE seminar on Colorado engineering law on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.
Matthew Ninneman’s segment, titled “Understanding the Investigatory and Disciplinary Practices of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies,” will give an overview of the operation of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), its areas of oversite, and disciplinary powers. Mr. Ninneman will also cover prohibited practices, investigatory procedures, and disciplinary hearings and outcomes.
Kelley Shirk’s portion, titled “Professional Liability Law,” will provide attendees with an overview of who can file a liability claim, common sources for such claims, and how to determine damages. Also covered will be possible defenses, how to utilize early mediation to resolve disputes, the role of a mediator, and how to obtain professional liability coverage.
