Lance Eberhart will moderate a panel at the 2019 ALFA International Hospitality & Retail Law Practice Group Seminar in Seattle, Washington on August 9, 2019. The panel titled, “Unlocking the Treasure Trove: Social Media in Litigation,” will discuss important considerations for investigating the public social media presence of the parties and witnesses in litigation matters, explain how social media evidence can be forensically captured and authenticated, and discuss strategic considerations for deploying social media evidence in settlement negotiations, in depositions, and at trial. In addition to moderating, Lance also co-published course materials for the session covering ethical concerns, admissibility, and spoliation.
Lance also contributed to the 2019 Hospitality & Retail Law Compendium for the state of Colorado. The 50-state Compendium was designed to serve as a single resource regarding important hospitality & retail law issues. This Compendium provides a synopsis of each state’s law on the use of CBD oil in products to be sold to the public, how states are dealing with GDPR requirements, and adopted privacy laws in response to concerns about the lack of protections for consumers.
