Construction lawyers from Hall & Evans will be speaking at the eighth annual Risk Control Seminar for Architects, Engineers, and Environmental Professionals at the Coors Field Events Center on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Benton Barton’s session titled, “Learning to Fly (Without Falling): Assessing Risk in Project Pursuits,” will discuss the four critical steps of risk management that aid in determining whether pursuing a project is a viable and prudent decision. His presentation will focus on how to carefully identify, assess, manage, and control the risks in projects. Benton has invited Hall & Evans construction law attorneys Brian Molzahn and Matt Ninneman to offer their thoughts and perspectives throughout the discussion.
The morning seminar will also feature an interactive presentation by national insurance and risk control consultant Tim Corbett of SmartRisk, discussing “Major Causes of A/E Claims-Risk Assessment Results.”
The seminar was first conceived in 2014 and is hosted by Rick Van Oppen of the specialty broker Van Oppen & Co. 2, and is also supported by Hall & Evans, RLI Insurance Company, and SmartRisk. Following the seminar, we will enjoy food, drinks, and the Colorado Rockies v. San Diego Padres ballgame in the Rockies Home Plate Suite.
