Brooke Churchman recently spoke on a panel at the 2024 ALFA International Hospitality & Retail Practice Group Seminar in Los Cabos, Mexico. The three-day seminar focused on future challenges of the hospitality and retail sector including artificial intelligence, labor strikes, tort reform, and implications on DE&I practices stemming from the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision on affirmative action.
Brooke’s panel, titled “Seeing is Believing, or Is It?” addressed artificial intelligence and the challenges posed by artificially generated and altered images or recordings, commonly known as “deepfakes.” The panel discussed the importance of authenticating evidence and advance planning for the complications this emerging technology will present in the courtroom.
