Andrew Reitman was quoted in the article “As Amtrak Eyes Front Range, Questions Remain About Rail in Colorado” appearing in this week’s edition of Law Week Colorado. The article follows an announcement expressing Amtrak’s intent to utilize funds from the American Jobs Plan to expand its passenger lines to underserviced communities along the front range corridor, between Pueblo, Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mr. Reitman lent his experience in transportation law to add a word of caution regarding the potential expansion for Colorado’s pre-existing rail networks, commenting that much of the bill is earmarked for other infrastructure and quoting the high cost associated with rail projects. However, Mr. Reitman also notes the Jobs Plan funding could still benefit Colorado and its infrastructure in other ways.
